Legal research for policy consultancy

  • Independent international consultant since 2019 (residing in Denmark) for Deutche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (Germany), Sofreco (France), among others.
  • Extensive legal advisory functions to Vietnamese ministries, including the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (a total of 15 client-service technical reports). (2001 – 2018)
  • Member of the Group for Research on the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement established by Viet Nam National Assembly’s External Relations Committee (2016).

Capacity building consultancy

  • 13 years’ experience in consulting, managing and evaluating various capacity building projects, training programs and curricula of law training institutes in Vietnam, Laos, and Honduras to meet the demands of labor market (2006 – 2019).
    • International Consultant on legal training for Deutche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (Germany) in the project Citizen Engagement for Good Governance, Accountability and Rules of Law (CEGGA) in Laos: supported the National Institution of Justice (NIJ) of Laos to strengthen its systemic approach to the development of curricula and basic training materials for students (February – May 2019).

Legal consultancy

  • Four years’ practical experience in cooperation with a corporate legal team to provide legal advice and compliance services to a Vietnamese conglomerate (focused on corporate law issues, contract management, due process, due diligence, among others) (2005 – 2008).
  • One year as legal assistant at Ngo, Miguérès & Associés (French law firm) operating in Hanoi, Vietnam (1996 – 1997).

  • Principal Investigator of the project Training Vietnamese Legal Experts Participating in the Resolution of International Trade and Investor-State Disputes (external funding from the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam) (2015 – 2017).
  • Principal Investigator of the project Theoretical and Practical Grounds for Designing Syllabi, Improving Curriculum and Methodology of Training Bachelor Degree Majoring in International Trade and Business Law, Aiming at Meeting the Requirements of the International Integration of the Country (external funding from the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam) (2012 – 2013).
  • Principal Investigator of the project Designing Syllabus of Law on Resolution of International Trade and Business Disputes, within the Framework of the Bachelor’s Curriculum of the Major in International Trade and Business Law at the HLU – Theoretical and Practical Grounds (2012 – 2013).
  • Member of the Steering Committee and Drafting Team Leader of the Hanoi Law University’s project Opening New Major in International Trade and Business Law at Bachelor’s Degree submitted to Ministry of Education and Training (2010 – 2011).
